CT Guided Biopsy

What is the procedure?

Before beginning this procedure, a radiologist will talk to you and explain the procedure and obtain your informed consent. These pictures will initially cover the area to be biopsied. You will receive anesthesia locally and once the biopsy is obtained, it will be sent to the laboratory for analysis. You will be watched for a short time after the biopsy for recovery.

How much time is involved?
Approximately 1 hour. You will be watched for a period of time after the biopsy for recovery.

Am I allowed to eat or drink before this exam?

Please let us know if you are allergic to contrast material or if you may be pregnant. Your exam will be interpreted promptly and the results sent directly to your doctor.
