Barium Enema

What is the procedure?

This study evaluates the anatomy of your colon, or large intestine. Contrast material is injected from a tube placed in your rectum. The Radiologist will take multiple pictures using Fluoroscopy. The Technologist will take other pictures when the Radiologist leaves the room.

How much time is involved?
Approximately 45 minutes. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment.
