Joint Injection

What is the procedure?

This procedure is used to either help define your anatomy or to inject medication into a joint for pain relief. A Radiologist will perform this procedure and answer any questions you may have. After appropriate anesthesia, a needle is placed in your joint and either contrast material or medication is injected. If requested, additional imaging may be performed following contrast material injection.

How much time is involved?
Approximately 1 hour. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment.

Please inform the staff if there is any possibility of pregnancy at the time of scheduling your appointment.
