Myelogram

What is the procedure?

This study evaluates the anatomy of your spine, nerve roots, and spinal cord. A Radiologist will perform this procedure and answer any questions you may have. Contrast material is injected into your neck and back to outline the nerve roots and x-ray pictures are taken using Fluoroscopy and a conventional x-ray machine. You will then undergo a CT (Computed Tomography) study of your neck or back.

How much time is involved?
Approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours. You will be observed for several hours following completion of the study for your safety and recovery. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment.

Please inform the staff if there is any possibility of pregnancy at the time of scheduling your appointment.
