Small Bowel Series (SBS)

What is the procedure?

This study evaluates the anatomy of your small bowel. After you drink barium for this study, the Radiologist will take multiple pictures using Fluoroscopy. Some films are obtained at specific times after you finish drinking.

How much time is involved?
This study takes approximately 2 to 4 hours to complete. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.
