Ultrasound Breast Biopsy
What is the procedure?
The Radiologist will talk to you and explain the procedure and answer any questions. The skin is cleaned and the area to be biopsied is anesthetized. A needle is then placed to collect the sample, which will be sent to the laboratory for analysis. You will be observed briefly following completion of this procedure for your safety and recovery.
How much time is involved?
Please plan approximately 2 � hours for this procedure, as time is needed to register, meet the support staff and prepare for the study. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.
Am I allowed to eat or drink before this exam?
Yes.
